Palau No. 115292: "Los dos últimos tomos son algo mas raros en comercio". The first volume of the first Spanish edition of this history of the revolutions in Hungary, covering the period 1655 - 1680. According to KVK the author was probably Claude Vanel, who flourished 1680 - 1694. - Without the rather rare 2nd and 3rd volume, which were published in the following years. Good copy.

World-chronicle from the Creation until the author's own time, with special emphasis on the Swiss Confederacy (Eidgenossenschaft). Contains also a history of the kings of Poland and Hungary, the history of the persecution of the Church in England, and the religious wars in France. Sebastian Werro (Freiburg/Schweiz 1555 - Freiburg/Schweiz 1614) was an influential theologian and leader of the Catholic reform in Switzerland. Very extensive sections of this work are devoted to Jewish history: "De iudicibus Israëlitis", "De Regibus Israelis & Prophetis", "De Synagoga", possibly influenced by Werro's pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 1581. - Small hole in title affecting title-border, library stamp on verso of title, lightly browned.
