Auction catalogue of 4507 lots of the library of the charterhouse at Buxheim (Bavaria), that after the secularisation in 1803, passed into the possession of the counts of Waldbott-Bassenheim who sent it for auction in 1883 thus dispersing an unusually fine and intact monastic library. Containing hundreds of textual and illuminated manuscripts, incunabula mostly in their original bindings, German sixteenth-century woodcut books, early graphic arts, portions of the donation of Hildebrand Brandenburg containing, his celebrated woodcut exlibris usually cited as the earliest of its kind.
