Antique brass bookrest/lectern. c. 1800. Antique pierced brass, folding table-top bookstand. The pages are held back with a cord (later replacement) with two solid brass weights. The book-rest stands on a folding easel stand, which angle can be adjusted. The front panel has an all-over pierced hand-sawn floral and ornamental decoration. 22 x 26 cm (front panel). (# 5894)
